Contract dispute could affect Sofia Vergara's salary

Many people in California watch "Modern Family" on television. Sofia Vergara, who plays a main role on the show, is known as one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood. However, TV network and 20th Century Fox are apparently engaged in a contract dispute that has potential not only to affect Vergara's salary but may actually leave her and her cast mates without jobs.

It's been reported that cast members were slated to make as much as $350,000 per episode during the eighth season. The problem is no new agreement has been forged for a ninth season. This delay is said to be due to TV network's and 20th Century Fox's contract dispute as to who should cover the exorbitant costs of the show.

Cast members' salaries are said to account for a large portion of those costs, which are typically covered by networks in similar situations. As it stands, both sides in this particular dispute have until mid-May to decide whether the show should go on to a ninth season. Neither side has provided any public statements regarding the matter.

Fans of "Modern Family" in California and across the nation will surely be hoping for a ninth season. It's not all that uncommon for television companies, actors and other performers or athletes, etc. to experience contract-related problems from time to time. Most often, the best outcomes are achieved through assertive, skilled intervention, such as that which would be provided by an experienced business and commercial law attorney.
