NFL football rookie resolves contract dispute

Most San Diego Chargers fans, in California and throughout the nation, are eagerly awaiting the beginning of a new National Football League season. Many have been following a story in the news, however, involving a rookie on the team, Joey Bosa, and a recent contract dispute. Although a resolution to the contract issues was recently announced, the situation kept the player out of training camp this summer.

Bosa is a first round draft pick who plays defensive end. He was chosen third overall after being at the top of his game in his college career with 150 tackles and 26 sacks in 41 games. Spokespersons for the Chargers say Bosa has finally agreed to a 4-year term, ending his contract dispute with the team.

General Manager, Tom Telesco, said that since Bosa missed training camp due to the contract issues, and they are working to help him prepare as quickly as possible for the upcoming season. He also said they are greatly looking forward to having Bosa  join them on the field.  No information was provided as to the exact salary or conditions to which the athlete agreed to in his new contract.

It is not uncommon, whether on a professional football team or other area of business in California and beyond, for a contract dispute to cause significant delays in production and profitability for those involved. Often, misunderstandings regarding legal terms contained within a contract leads to confusion or failure to uphold the obligations and responsibilities inherent in an agreement. Therefore, it is always advisable to seek clarification of such matters through experienced guidance from a business and commercial attorney before signing any type of binding agreement.
